The department of semiconductor engineering (DSE) at Seoul National University of Science and Technology was established in 2021 with the goal of fostering the best global professionals in the semiconductor field which is at the core of the industry 4.0 era, and accepts its first freshmen in March 2022.

The DSE strengthens the basic knowledge of semiconductor devices, design, process, and programming, and further focuses on the advanced semiconductor devices and system integration rather than circuit design. It also offers practical courses such as experimental practice, industrial-academic projects, statistics, and engineering work skills such as critical thinking, logical problem-solving, and finally English courses.

The DSE will provide the META (Meet Theory & Applications) program with the best faculty members with industry experience and with experimental facilities. Moreover with this, we will foster global professionals who will lead the future semiconductor technology.

The students who graduate from the DSE can work for global IDM companies, OSAT companies, materials and equipment companies. In addition, students who want to pursue in-depth and diverse research on next-generation semiconductor technology are offered opportunities for M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in our graduate school.
